I don't watch the Olympics much, mainly cause it's annoying to have my mom screaming along with the TV in my ears.
Watching the gymnastics was interesting, however.

I'll be 18 in 6 weeks, so I'm in the clear for a little while.
Also, Dome, her teeth are pretty cute, imo.

Resigned.

The coverage here sucks some serious ass. Only a couple hours of coverage each day on the channels I get. I hate it, because I'm quite interested in watching. It's so cool how humans have been able to stretch the limits of what's physically possible.

@ BPB : Yes, I was a bit stunned about the lip singing fiasco. The 7 year old girl is a cutie.... and it sucked that she had to hide.
@ Illfated Fat : If I only had 2 hours of coverage..... I have no idea what I would do. I truly enjoy watching most of it. I'm not saying it to make you jealous... but with Direct TV we pretty much have 24 hr coverage, of course they repeat things They have about 7 different channels covering different events, so if I am awake.... it's turned on, even as background noise.

Yeah, there was that one girl who lost a baby tooth a few days ago or something, but the Olympics are in Beijing this year, so they'll get away with it.

Yeah, because age means you're better at gymnastics.

I'm watching the Olympics but I'm crying almost all the time because of that. Poland has a chance for bronze in martial arts, lost chance for any medal in swimming, football, basketball, has a chance of getting to the finals in ping-pong (;d) and pretty much that's it.
What's stupid, they could've won in volleyball yesterday Poland - Japan, but as soon as it was Pol 13 - 10 Jap, our team started loosing points in the last match... And even if they could turn 2-0 into 2-2, they lost in 5th game. But it looked so pathetic, how they were loosing points...

I find that China is only good at individual competitions, they can't work as a team. If you know an Asian, that should make sense.. I know it does for me. I liked that 0.08 second finish on the 4 x 100, it was even better that we were not expected to beat the french and we did.

Judging by your avatar, I'd guess you're Canadian, and I'm pretty sure the Canadians didn't place, on the off chance their team made it to the Olympics.

I'm Canadian, so I don't watch the summer games, none of the events intrest me. I won't start caring until the winter games start in my city in 2010. From what I understand we are getting slayed anyways.
I don't get what all the fuss about the age of the girls from China is. Seriously, if I saw a child beat an adult in anything I would not use age as a factor.

This is definitely dependent on personality. Some of the Chinese school sports teams I know fall into your viewpoint (strong individually but little teamwork), but usually that's tied to their very individually-competitive and headstrong attitude.
It's not true for the entire population in all sports and activities.

dont clump the japanese with that statement....in japan the team is EVERYTHING! they have a btch of a time with individual stuff usually---its drilled into them in school---do whats good for your class, do whats good for the team/club etc...and yeah I hated the coverage they had when I lived there---ping pong is NOT a sport really!
so just when is the sync swimming going to be on (so I can see if any of the cable stations I have MIGHT carry it)....?
